IRON LYNX SET FOR TITLE DEFENCE IN 2025 EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES
Following the confirmation of its two-car 2025 programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship as a Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team, Iron Lynx has decided to complement the effort with one Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 racecar in the European series.
The move will mark the sixth consecutive ELMS campaign for Iron Lynx. After making its first foray in the series back in 2020, the team captured its first title in 2021 and secured two third-place finishes in 2022 and 2023. It then reclaimed the crown in 2024, with four podiums and a decisive win in the Portimão finale.
The #63 entry is headlined by Gustavo Menezes. The 30-year-old American drove for Iron Lynx in the postseason FIA WEC test at Bahrain International Circuit.
Entering the ELMS will enable the team to maximize the learning and competitive aspects as it introduces the new-for-2025 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 machinery. Powered by a 6.3-litre V8 engine producing 550 horsepower, the LMGT3 version of the car is currently being developed to comply with the ACO regulations. It will soon be delivered to the Iron Lynx headquarters to begin testing.
For the third consecutive year, the ELMS season will take off at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with the running of the Official test session on April 1st, followed by the 4 Hours of Barcelona.
We are delighted to continue our presence in the European Le Mans Series as a Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team. We achieved remarkable success in this championship, so we definitely have many good memories. We will also be lining up as the reigning champions, which is always motivating, but we have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to keep the same pace and stay competitive. We look forward to doing that work in the upcoming winter preparations and heading into the new season.
