LAMBORGHINI IRON LYNX POWERS TO JAPANESE CHALLENGE AT FUJI SPEEDWAY

The FIA World Endurance Championship is set to wrap up its summer stint and will do so on the other side of the world compared to where it started. After competing in Brazil and in the USA, Lamborghini Iron Lynx has landed in the Japanese countryside, on the slopes of magnificent Mount Fuji. The legendary Fuji Speedway is hosting round seven of the 2024 season, the 6 Hours of Fuji, a traditional event that usually draws a large crowd of extremely passionate fans.

The #63 Lamborghini SC63 racecar will be driven by the Squadra Corse Factory Driver trio of Mirko Bortolotti, Daniil Kvyat, and Edoardo Mortara, with the race start scheduled on Sunday at 11:00AM local time, GMT+9.
 
Despite having raced many times in Japan throughout his Formula 1 career, Kvyat-san only had the chance to compete at Fuji Speedway last year in LMP2, but quickly got up to speed. He will provide valuable insight to the team. On the other hand, Bortolotti-san and Mortara-san will be making their debut at the fast 4.549-kilometre venue. However, being running on a new track for the first time didn’t stop them from impressing in São Paulo and at Circuit of The Americas.

Fuji welcomed teams and drivers with warmer temperatures than usual although, also due to its geographic location, there might be surprises in terms of the weather. With the team situated and already preparing for the race, the goal will be to maximise the package as much as possible and collect more and more data ahead of future challenges.

We are happy to continue this great journey in Japan, on one of the most legendary tracks in motorsports and in such a beautiful country with so many passionate fans. Moving from Brazil to the USA and Fuji is definitely a great challenge for every team, but it’s all going quite smoothly. We look forward to continuing the progress we showed from start to finish every weekend. At the same time, as the season is set for its final stint, we must already work with an eye on the next to be fully set and prepared.
