LAMBORGHINI IRON LYNX COMPLETES PRE-RACE ACTIVITIES AT LE MANS

Lamborghini Iron Lynx is set to line up for its first Le Mans 24 Hours in the Hypercar category tomorrow, as the 92nd edition of the French event kicks off at 16:00 CET.

The team continued to make steps in practice and qualifying, showing an encouraging pace at times and troubleshooting the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh racecar as it made its first steps on one of the world’s most challenging circuits.

The team worked hard to maximise every aspect of the cars under both the performance and reliability aspects. On Wednesday, Mirko Bortolotti qualified the #63 car in 13th, and will take off from the seventh row with team-mates Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara.

The #19 car will start from 21st. Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli, and Romain Grosjean faced some obstacles early in the weekend but bounced back to solid form in the final practice.

On Friday, the traditional Parade des Pilotes brought the drivers to the heart of a city in full celebration mode amid hundreds of thousands of elated fans. After taking full energy from a sensational crowd, drivers are now set for a night of rest ahead of the most challenging and important race of the year.

It will also mark a historic milestone for Lamborghini, competing for the leading class and with its first hybrid prototype racer in front of more than 300,000 people. Caldarelli and Mortara will be the starting drivers for the #19 and #63 cars, respectively.

We are preparing to live a historic and very challenging moment. Just to have reached this point is absolutely noteworthy. The efforts made by everyone in the team were monumental, and I want to thank every single team member. Still, the challenge that lies ahead is one of the toughest in motorsport. This is the point where all efforts come together and we are determined to stay focused and compete at the top of our game to finish the race and take all the opportunities available. We look forward to the 24 hours!
